Hello,

I am working with openCarp and was wondering if there is a good way to compress .igb Data. Since my simulations are pretty long i get very big output files. If there was a way to make them more handy and easier to store or to make .igb files in general smaller it would help me a lot.

Sincerelly,
Vincent

Hello

IGB files do not compress very well since they are binary. I generally saw a factor around 2 with gzip. For visualisation or post-processing, it is very inconvenient and slow to deal with compressed files as you cannot jump around.
