Hi,

I am trying to follow the meshalyzer examples in Video tutorials | openCARP and running the given ellipsoid example. While the rest of the functions illustrated are fine, I am unable to pick/select specific vertices. I tried on both Windows and my WSL and both did not work. Once I click any vertex, I get the error message in my Linux terminal: "ERROR::SHADER::VERTEX::COMPILATION_FAILED

0:2(12): warning: extension `GL_EXT_clip_cull_distance' unsupported in vertex shader

0:5(7): error: redeclaration cannot change qualification of `gl_ClipDistance'

ERROR::SHADER::PROGRAM::LINKING_FAILED

error: linking with uncompiled/unspecialized shader"

I would like to select specific points to get coordinate. Thank you in advance for your help!

Hey,

normally it is sufficient to load the mesh, click on the "Pick Vertex" button once (or simply "P" on the keyboard) and then select the desired vertex on the mesh. Clicking the "?" button will open a window with the coordinates of that point and all sorts of other information.

If you already know the ID of the vertex, you can also type the ID in the data field next to "Vertex" and click the "?" button.

Sometimes I end up with a similar situation as in your pictures, where the background gets black and all nodes are shown if I try to pick a point. However, I am not sure how that happens exactly and I can't reproduce that consistently. I am not aware of a windows specific bug in that case and I can't test it on windows either right now. But if the above instructions don't help, let me know and I will try to reproduce it on a windows machine.

Best,

Tobias

Hi Tobias,

Thanks for your answer. I can access the ID and get information from the "?" button, but I still cannot select specific vertices. It produces an error and the background turns dark.

I will also see if I can run it on a MAC.

Best,

Dongcheng
